Inspiration Behind Kammi Teething Doll
Kammi™ Teething Doll Receives Rave Reviews Doll Soothes Gums and Comforts Baby
VENTURA, Calif. - March 29, 2005 - Applauding Kammi Teething Doll, the Family Review Center says, "Kammi Teething Doll has the most unique idea for a baby to come along in a long time." The March review leaves the Ventura, California-based infant and toddler gift supplier cooing with delight over positive comments stating, "The Kammi Doll™ is a wonderful product that is simple in design, yet brilliant in purpose."
The Kammi™ Teething Doll which boasts four terry cloth teething knots that can be dampened and chilled in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, makes up just part of the European-inspired baby gifts created by Clasina Valkenberg. Family review notes that, "Before the days of the Kammi™ Teething Doll, we were stuck giving our infants teething gels and cold, wet washcloths for them to chew on. Now the Kammi™ Teething Doll is here, for them to have their own chew toy that both aids and comforts through the teething cycle."
Commenting on origins, Valkenberg remembers, "My little 17-month-old niece, Desanne, had come to visit from Holland clinging to a well-worn, elf-like cloth doll that she carried with her day and night!" Desanne's mother then told Valkenberg that many European babies receive such a doll at birth. The new mom holds the doll close to her own skin for a night, or so and her scent transfers onto the doll's flannel fabric." Valkenberg was intrigued by the concept and created her own version of her niece's 'best friend' and called it Ookie® -- which means "Little One" in Dutch. The owner's family also inspired the Kammi™ Teething Doll which is named after Valkenberg's grandson.
